The story revolves around the legend of Kochadaiiyaan played by Rajnikanth.  Kochadaiiyaan is by far a new attempt in Indian Cinema, and credit goes to the humongous crew for this film, which carves a new benchmark. However, the animation has got flak by critics and been criticized, as it cracks in places. Directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth Ashwin, the film for the first time has a superstar completely letting his image and voice be used in totality in an animation feature film. Jackie Shroff, Deepika Padukone and  Nassar has lent their voice and image to the film.

Kochadaiiyaan movie is based on Pandiyan king Kochadaiyan Ranadhiran (710-735 A.D). ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ is the story about how mighty warrior Rana fights to restore his father Kochadaiiyaan’s lost glory.
The film has been released in 6 Indian Languages in Indian language versions Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Bhojpuri and Punjabi, simultaneously in 2D and 3D in over 6000 screens worldwide. The much-talked about music of this film has been composed by none other than A.R Rahman. An impressive star-cast and engaging animation surely makes this film go into the “must-watch” category, especially for the budding animators and 3D character creators.
