Harshavardhan Durugadda is an ex student of WLCI Design School and a freelance visual artist. In terms of experimentation Harshavardhan is almost like a child with Christmas presents! He loves to experiment in different mediums and methods. He is into video installations, large scale public art projects, 3 D printing devise for enhancing the quality of art-work etc. Of these mentioned points, the last one has had deeper influence on his work of late and thanks to the 3D Printing Magic Machine, Harsha now wants to build an active community in his current home in Hyderabad, where he would make a lab available for artists equipped with 3D tools and all, that would help and change the process of the budding artists- artistic creation. He has called this project ‘Mission Prayogya’.

This ‘Fablab’ would not only be a lab for the artists but also for students, designers and architects who would like to experiment. This move would foster collaboration and a sense of community among artists, which is deeply lacking he says.

After completing his B.SC Harsha moved to Delhi to complete his Visual Communications course from WLCI. He learnt the in-roads of Visual art and graphics design. He ventured into 3D printing by chance and invested in the same knowing how useful this would turn out to be for artists and students alike. He bought an unassembled 3D Printer from Mumbai, and assembled it himself. Harsha says 3D printing would make big art-projects easier to build with easier and faster prototypes built at lesser cost and in turn help the artist to visualize the final product as well as make fewer errors.

WLCI Design School wishes Harshavardhan all the luck to his journey ahead!
